A Memory or Two - Performance Video
A Memory or Two is a form of escapism from everyday life during the pandemic as well as a visual representation of my emotional state from last year, which I try to process with my video performance.
Memory is a broken or dead part of an experience but simultaneously it holds something very powerful. Memories can be very real, the same as dreams can feel real. In my video A Memory or Two I am a seashell person with no specific gender in my own imaginary underwater world. The video represents the stagnancy and repetition that was present in my everyday life. In the video my current self looks back at my former self and moves from feeling stuck to exerting acceptance towards this former self.
For my video I made textile sculptures as well as the props myself.
